Longest ride I’ve done since hopping back on the bike three weeks ago. Excuse my French, but River Road was fucking magical today. Autumn might be my new favorite season. Photos do no justice, but check them out anyway. More on the Flickr.
Since mother nature was kind enough to give us sun instead of snow yesterday, we headed out for a spin. It’s been a week since I’ve been back on the bike and my body is definitely feeling it. This week’s lessons include:
- It’s getting freaking cold. Must. Grow. Thicker. Skin.
- Lay off attempting to climb out of the saddle ..for now. Not having full range of motion and no strength in the shoulder equals a world of hurt post-ride, pre-physical therapy.
- No track bikes yet. Riding fixed requires a ton of upper body strength that I still don’t have. Maybe after the screw removal surgery I’ll try again. Will stick to le roadie for now.
- I have a ton of catching up to do. 20-25 miles a day for the next few weeks should let me catch up with the homies who have been riding solo century rides for the past 3 months. SHUT UP LEGS.
