“It is not a country of light on things. It is a country of things in light.”- Georgia O’Keeffe (on New Mexico)
Last week, my girlfriend and I headed southwest to the mountainous state of New Mexico. We dedicated a day to exploring the Rio Grande along the West Rim Trail via rental MTBs from the local bike shop, and it was an amazing experience with unbelievable views. The images above are just two from the route of the trail, but stay tuned for more to come from the trip.

SUNDAY SPIN: PP, AGAIN.

Since mother nature was kind enough to give us sun instead of snow yesterday, we headed out for a spin. It’s been a week since I’ve been back on the bike and my body is definitely feeling it. This week’s lessons include:

  • It’s getting freaking cold. Must. Grow. Thicker. Skin.
  • Lay off attempting to climb out of the saddle ..for now. Not having full range of motion and no strength in the shoulder equals a world of hurt post-ride, pre-physical therapy.
  • No track bikes yet. Riding fixed requires a ton of upper body strength that I still don’t have. Maybe after the screw removal surgery I’ll try again. Will stick to le roadie for now.
  • I have a ton of catching up to do. 20-25 miles a day for the next few weeks should let me catch up with the homies who have been riding solo century rides for the past 3 months. SHUT UP LEGS.
